Sinking foundations, cracked and buckled walls and uneven floors are problems commonly faced annually by some quarter-million homeowners. Homes and other structures situated on unstable soils settle when their foundations are subjected to extreme moisture conditions or lack of proper drainage. A shifting foundation may result in structural damage to your home and a loss of your investment.

Using your home to hammer piers into
the ground can cause damage to your home that will not show up until
years later. This process can cause your footings and stem wall to
crack. The Screw Down System developed by Westchester Foundation
Repair first screws the pier into place then lifts your home all at
one time right back where it belongs.
The difference between the Screw Down
System and other systems is much like driving a nail or screwing a
screw into a wall. Other systems will drive their piers into the
ground using your home as a hammer. If you drive a nail into the wall
and it hits a hard surface it will bend making the nail worthless.
When you screw a screw into the wall it will go until it hits hard
surface and go no further, thus drawing and holding everything
together.
